It slightly rips off the plot of Dead Space, but to a minimal extent. The story is also pretty cliche and generic.
While using the joysticks to move your character or shoot your weapon, you may slide your finger off or accidently buy premium ammo for a medium amount of cash you need for regular ammo. For example, in survivor mode, there was originally no maximum amount of zombies in a game like in SAS3, as zombies fill up your entire screen, lag everywhere, you eventually crash, and may or may not lose small amounts of progress. Gameplay is very stable, but of course, you may find the occasional bug or crash in an amazing match, which always sucks. Thankfully though, membership is not required to play online, which is great for people who can't pay for membership and have to be glued to things like the PS3. Which is always, very annoying! It sucks when good games get you to pay for something like premium items, or premium membership. Micro transactions are especially apparent in this game, forcing you to buy really good items for real money, or buying more revives to get you back into the fight. Playing with friends or drop in drop out can be very fun, leading up to intense minutes leading up to, "GET TO THE CHOPPER!" Type moments. Also, the missions are relatively easy depending on your level or skills, while others are challenging as apex zombies tear you limb from limb! There are only 7 campaign missions, excluding last survivor, contracts, or Nightmare. Of course you've got your generic Walker zombies or fat zombies, but there are some really good ones out there that can up your piss pants factor, because if you fail a mission, you lose the strongboxes you obtained! Some zombies like the Dark Minions can crawl through walls and surprise you from behind! While others when killed, split into mini versions of themselves, each with their own unique elemental effects. Now for the important subject, are there cool zombies? For the most part, yes. Some enemies can be resistant to certain forms of damage, unless you get upgrades to partially ignore resistances. However, not all zombies can take these damage modifiers. Similar to games like Borderlands, weapons can have elemental effects like fire or corrosive. New weapons that you obtain can have a wide variety of effects that you can tinker with to fit your play style. Certain boxes are better and more uncommon than others, increasing your chances of getting a great addition to your Arsenal. In order to get better weapons and armor, you need to find strongboxes, which are containers that you can obtain which contain different items in different rarity. Additionally, the Weapon and Armor systems are solid and add more progression to the game. You always feel different from one another, so you feel like a proper elite squad. The mechanic makes everybody feel like one unit.
The leveling up and skill system is great for this game. However, the better ones may require you to be at least level 20 to unlock and purchase with a skill point. Each of these different classes all have their own unique and useful skills and abilities that can all help get the job done. Anywho, In this latest entry, you can play as one of three classes. On a secondary note, Ninja Kiwi also made Balloons Tower Defense. SAS4 was the 4th entry in the SAS Zombie Assault series, developed by Ninja Kiwi. I'm pleased to say that SAS4 is a great experience! However, if you are looking for an original and well written story, than look elsewhere.
